Sid Scott was a writer, editor, and co-founder of the Communist Party of New Zealand. In 1957, however, he resigned from the Communist Party and in 1961 became a member of the New Zealand Labour Party. Until his death in 1970, Scott produced articles, pamphlets and speeches on aspects of world and national affairs and corresponded with politicial and literary figures. Jesse H. Leonard was the son of Jacob Leonard of Albany, New York. He may have attended Columbia University. In the early 1880s, the Leonard family formed the Leonard Park Land and Cattle Company, with offices in Albany and Colorado. Its president was Jacob Leonard, its Secretary and Treasurer Jesse H.
